The pain of dating

It is SO terrifying to me to open up to people. Which some would find astounding because it seems to others that I am very open. So let me clarify. It is terrifying to vulnerable. To allow someone to see your mistakes, to see your pain, to see the things that make up  your soul.  Because those things have been belittled, ridiculed, and made fun of in my life. And it's been very uncomfortable and painful.

Dating is scary to me. It's hard to share myself completely with someone because they could always reject me.  It's difficult to ask someone on a date and be rejected. Which happened to me this week. It's frightening to say that I truly like you and am interested in you.

But even scarier to me, is to not feel my life, my emotions, to be true to myself, to regret, or to not be honest with myself, and to not live every single moment of my life.

#2 of Highly Confident People - They Don't Avoid Doing the Scary Thing
Highly confident people don't let fear dominate their lives. They know that the things they are afraid of doing are often the very same things that they need to do in order to evolve into the person they are meant to be.

Courage - tell the story of who you are with your whole heart.
Be authentic.
Connect.
Be compassionate to you and then others.
Be content with being imperfect.
What makes me vulnerable makes me beautiful.
It's not comfortable.
Say I love you first.
Do something with no guarantees.
